Finally someone who can sing who ISN’T a teenager! Thursday night on X Factor, the judges (and I) were completely blown away by a 36-year old single dad who sang his heart out for the first time in front of his son. And it was moving to say the least.
Jeffrey Adam Gutt chose to sing Hallelujah by Leonard Cohn. It’s a song that L.A. Reid called “…maybe the greatest song ever written…and you nailed it!”
Nailed it he did. Have a listen…
Demi Lovato added that she had “…never heard it sung like that before…”
Simon who made a point of saying how many times he’s heard that song sung for him said “…one of the most brilliant auditions I’ve heard…”
A yes from all 4 judges and Jeffrey is moving on. When his son ran on to the stage to give him a hug, there weren’t too many dry eyes in the house.
