Organized in 1878, they are known as “The Best Damn Band In The Land” or TBDBITL. They are the marching band of Ohio State University and they truly are the best in the world at what they do, and here’s proof!
This past weekend the band put on another awe-inspiring display of talent and co-ordination. It was a tribute to video games and it really has to be seen to be believed.
It was a 9 minute routine that included theme songs from many classic video games as well as sound effects. The games that made the tribute list included Pokemon, Super Mario Brothers, Halo, Space Invaders, Tetris and of course the grand-daddy of them all – Pac-Man.
The Legend of Zelda was also on full display and it’s homage included a horse the size of the field that actually began to gallop right before your eyes!
Have a look…
Every year upwards of 400 students compete for one of the coveted 225 spots in the band – AND – even the existing members from the previous year must try out each year as well.
Remarkable and VERY impressive!
