Alicia Keys is using hi-tech gadgetry to bring storytelling to a new generation of kids. The singer has come up with an interactive app for cell phones and tablets to educate and entertain children. ……….

The app, called The Journals of Mama Mae and LeeLee, allows users to read books, play music and write a journal on their handheld devices. Keys, who based the storytelling tool on her own relationship with her grandmother, says, “It’s a new adventure for me, and I’m really enjoying it. It does remind me of my world. The piano, the journal, music’s such a big part of my life, the city, all of that.”
