Mother’s Day is this weekend, and while many of us will do flowers or dinner or a day of cleaning for mom, 23-year-old Aba Atlas of Ottawa went a good sight further. Get this: he banked his paycheques for 2 years…and put it all down on the mortgage of his mom’s home. As you can imagine his mom, who came to Canada from Eritrea 20 years ago and has worked as a housekeeper to provide a better life for her kids, was overcome by the gesture. Aba shot the moment for posterity, posted it on YouTube for family and friends to see, and it has since garnered almost 2 million hits.
