Rumour has it Will Ferrell pulled out of a project about Ronald Reagan due to backlash over the film’s concept. Insiders say the film would have poked fun at Reagan’s Alzheimer’s.

According to Variety magazine, the movie is about an ambitious intern who saves Reagan’s 2nd presidential term (after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s) by convincing Reagan “he is an actor playing the president in a movie.”

“The Reagan is script is one of a number of scripts that had been submitted to Will Ferrell which he had considered. While it is by no means an ‘Alzheimer’s comedy’ as has been suggested, Mr. Ferrell is not pursuing this project.”

Patti Davis and Michael Reagan both lashed out at Ferrell on Thursday, with Michael writing on Twitter:

Patti meanwhile spoke of watching her father slowly drift away over the 10 years he fought the disease, and said she now runs a group called Beyond Alzheimer’s that provides support for caregivers and family members dealing with the disease. President Reagan died in 2004 as a result of pneumonia that was complicated by his Alzheimer’s.

Is Taylor Swift making a cameo in the upcoming X-Men film?

Taylor Swift has been spending her down time in between albums with her boyfriend, Calvin Harris, but she may have found the time to film a cameo for the new X-Men movie, X-Men: Apocalypse, which hits theaters on May 18th.

The cat was let out of the bag by actress Sophie Turner who plays a young Jean Grey in the movie.

Turner posted a still from the movie on her Instagram on Friday, April 29th. In the photo, Turner and Tye Sheridan who plays Cyclops, are record shopping in the ’80s. Cyclops pulls out a record by Dazzler, a mutant who has the ability to convert sound vibrations into light and energy beams. According to the, Swift will play the role of Dazzler.

The post was captioned with, “#FlashbackFriday to that time Cyclops and I went shopping at the mall and found our favourite singer’s album (pre 1989, of course).” 1989 is the title of Taylor’s 2014 album.

The cameo would make sense. Swift posted this picture on her Instagram last summer when her 1989 Tour stopped in Montreal where X-Men: Apocalypse was filming. Not surprisingly, the picture led to speculation that Swift had filmed a cameo.
