One of the quintessential Fall activities? Pumpkin picking!

If you’re trying to find the perfect pumpkin, we have some tips for you!

  • Stay away from soft pumpkins. If you’re stuck and that’s all they have at the pumpkin patch, keep searching! Soft pumpkins can lead to disaster when carving!
  • Don’t pick a pumpkin with blemishes! Those blemishes are a sign that there’s a bug infestation in your pumpkin.
  • Your pumpkin has to be orange! Discolouration can be minor, but if you find green spots on your pumpkin, it could be a sign that pumpkin has gotten bad.
  • Pick a pumpkin with a green or black stem. They are safer to hold, if you pick a pumpkin with a brown stem, it can lead to a messy accident!
  • Go with a round or oval shaped pumpkin! The bigger, the better! More room to carve, and more pumpkin seeds to eat!

Happy Picking!
