In May of 2014, the Farwell4Hire campaign began with a simple tweet. Mike Farwell offered his services as a lawn-mower, car-washer, garden-weeder, and countless other tasks in exchange for a donation to cystic fibrosis. Our community responded in a remarkable way and, six years later, Farwell4Hire is a recognized fundraising campaign that has amassed nearly half-a-million dollars for cystic fibrosis research.

Now, it’s time to return the favour to the community.

As we recover from COVID-19, many agencies in our community are struggling. So, in 2020, the Farwell4Hire campaign will be about the community. Our aim is to support the agencies that support so many vulnerable people, agencies that right now are stretched even further than usual.

Over the past six years, we’ve shown what we’re capable of when we come together. In 2020, it’s time for us to come together for our community, and to support the agencies who work every day to support so many others. Every dollar raised this year will be donated immediately to shelters, food banks, and other providers who serve our most vulnerable.

You may know Mike Farwell from his daily show on 570 News, or as the voice of the Kitchener Rangers, but you can’t really know Farewell, until you make him do an odd job for you. Give Mike all your oddest jobs, in exchange for a donation! Yard work, painting, whatever odd job you need done…he will do it! If you’d like to learn more about the Farwell4Hire campaign, please contact Mike at mike@570news.com.

I've always believed that in fundraising — and in life — it's important to not go off half-caulked. Always fully caulk for your donations. #Farwell4Hire
