  • Friends of Waterloo Fastball Reception. Wednesday August 15th from 3:00 to 6:00pm. Edelweiss Sports Tavern, Kitchener. Admission is free.

  • Woolwich Community Services Charity BBQ. Thursday August 9th from 11:00am to 2:00pm. Memorial Avenue, Elmira. Proceeds support the Woolwich Youth Centre. For more information, call 519-669-5139.
  • Desiree’s Angels 1st Car & Motorcycle Show & Shine. Saturday August 18th starting at 9:30am. The Knights, 12 Catharine Ave, Brantford. Registration is $10 dollars per vehicle with proceeds going to Victims Services & Nova Vita Women’s Shelter. Vintage cars, motorcycles, prizes, kids zone, games, BBQ and more.   • Freedom Ride To End MS through Forks of the Credit. Saturday August 18th; registration starting at 8:30AM, the Ride begins at 10:00AM. Begins from two locations: Bingeman’s  (425 Bingeman’s Centre Dr., Kitchener) OR Royal Canadian Legion (5357 County Rd. 9, New Lowell). Enjoy a pancake breakfast and fresh coffee before you set out at 10am. All riders will finish at Forks of the Credit for a BBQ lunch, fun and prizes! The minimum pledge to ride is $50. Each rider will receive one ticket to the grand prize.   • Team Makena Fundraiser. Saturday August 11th. North Dumfries Community Centre (2958 Greenfield Rd., Ayr). Supporting Makena Noble, an 8-year-old girl battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Vendor Show running from 10AM-5PM, Biker Poker Run from 12PM-4PM ($25 per poker hand), doors open to the dance at 7PM ($10 Admission per person).
